Your impact: Welcome to the heart of operational excellence at Geoquip Marine The Laboratory Administrator supports the onshore lab, handling office operations, visitor onboarding, project management, data tracking, logistics, and purchases. Key skills include attention to detail, MS Office, and communication. The role also ensures health and safety compliance and serves as the main contact for suppliers and clients. Qualifications and Experience: Prior administration experience is essential. Prior experience in a Geotechnical Laboratory or similar technical environment is preferred. GCSE Grade 4 English or equivalent. GCSE Grade 4 Mathematics or equivalent. The Person: Proficient in computer use, including MS Office Suite applications. Skilled in creating and updating various spreadsheets and databases using Microsoft Excel and other relevant software. Strong focus on accuracy and precision. High attention to detail. Adaptable and capable of adjusting to changing circumstances. Demonstrates diligence and thoroughness in completing tasks. Methodical approach to work processes. Excellent command of both written and spoken English, combined with strong customer service abilities. Capable of performing effectively under pressure. Resilient, maintaining composure and perseverance in challenging situations. The Job: Running the day-to-day operations of the Laboratory Office. Ensuring that all visitors are welcomed and inducted into the building. Creating projects using the laboratory information management system. Logging and communicating test schedule changes throughout the duration of projects. Liaising with Geoquip Marine offices worldwide and other UK locations. Tracking and logging incoming test data. Outputting and printing test reports for review by laboratory management. Acting as the first point of contact for suppliers, couriers, clients, and engineers. Raising purchase orders, ordering equipment, and organising logistics. Handling invoices and payments. Tracking and logging health and safety metrics. Managing key fob access for all staff. Providing regular updates to the contracts coordinator regarding test progress. Maintaining and updating laboratory databases and digital records to ensure data accuracy and security. Coordinating with internal teams to facilitate smooth communication and efficient workflow. Identifying and suggesting process improvements to optimise administrative operations and enhance laboratory efficiency. Providing support during audits or quality control assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and laboratory protocols. Assisting in training new administrative staff on laboratory processes and systems when required. Performing any other duties necessary within the scope of the incumbent’s competence and function.
