This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) within the Council. The HDRC will boost research capacity and embed a culture of always using evidence when making decisions. The Council has secured 5 years of funding from the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) to establish this innovative collaboration, which will carry out research to identify how the Council can improve community health and reduce health inequality.
We are looking for a data analyst who can collect numbers and statistics to identify trends, create models, and present results based on the research priorities of the HDRC. The postholder will work closely with the Research Fellows to connect data across Torfaen, conduct searches for data and information across a wide range of sources and systems, and identify new insights and discoveries.
The HDRC will be working with teams across the Council, University of South Wales, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB), third sector partners, and the community. Therefore, you will need excellent partnership working skills and the ability to build successful relationships.
This is a great opportunity for you to be part of a new research collaborative and to contribute towards making a difference to citizens in Torfaen. If you are passionate about making a difference and have the skills and experience we are looking for, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
We offer flexible working, family-friendly policies, a generous pension scheme, and generous holiday entitlement.
For an informal discussion regarding this vacancy please contact Gareth Cooke, Head of HDRC on 07933 885154 or email gareth.cooke@torfaen.gov.uk.
