About the Role:
The Estimator will play a key role in producing highly competitive, carefully analysed tender costs to secure successful bids. You will work on competitive bids, negotiated contracts, and within frameworks to meet company targets for new work. This includes assessing tender viability, identifying client requirements, and ensuring quality submissions. Your input will drive the profitability and success of bids while collaborating with various departments to ensure seamless contract execution.
About Our Client:
Our client is a reputable civil engineering company with a strong track record of delivering successful projects. They are looking for a driven Estimator to contribute to their continued success in competitive markets.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Communicating regularly with your line manager.
2. Studying tender documentation and assessing tender viability.
3. Identifying client requirements and developing the best offer to meet them.
4. Identifying risks or ambiguities and discussing them with clients/engineers.
5. Evaluating temporary works and design requirements.
6. Conducting site visits and liaising with key subcontractors.
7. Collaborating with designers on Design & Build contracts.
8. Taking off quantities for tenders.
9. Liaising with commercial, procurement, and senior management teams.
10. Developing construction methods and techniques to ensure efficient resource levels.
11. Calculating net tender costs from first principles.
12. Ensuring tenders are complete and submitted on time.
13. Successfully handing over won tenders to the Contracts Department.
What Our Client is Looking For:
1. Financial management skills.
2. Pre-contract management experience.
3. A minimum of 2 years' estimating experience within a civil engineering company (desirable).
4. At least 3 years of site experience (desirable).
5. Strong communication and collaboration skills.
6. Competency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
7. Knowledge of Business Collaborator (desirable).

Eligibility:
1. Full UK driving licence.
2. CSCS Card.
3. HNC in Civil Engineering or NVQ Level 6 in Construction or equivalent (desirable).
