Having offices in Leamington Spa and Shalford, Surrey they are looking for a Chassis Project Engineer - Links And Knuckles to join their team on a rolling contract basis
42 hours per week, outside IR35
Job Summary:
1. The Chassis Project Engineer - Chassis Links and Knuckles Specialist will lead the design, development, testing, and validation of chassis linkages and knuckle systems.
2. This role will focus on ensuring that these components meet the required performance, durability, and safety standards, while also optimizing the overall suspension system.
3. The engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate chassis links and knuckles into the overall vehicle chassis architecture.
Design and Development:
4. Lead the design and development of chassis linkages, including control arms, tie rods, wishbones, and suspension knuckles, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and durability requirements.
5. Develop and optimize suspension knuckles and linkage geometry, including considerations for kinematics, handling, ride comfort, and durability.
6. Select appropriate materials (e.g., steel, aluminium, composites) for knuckles and chassis links to balance strength, weight, cost, and manufacturability.
7. Collaborate with the suspension team to ensure that knuckles and links integrate seamlessly with suspension geometry and vehicle dynamics.
Regulatory and Safety Compliance:
8. Ensure that all chassis links and knuckles meet relevant safety and regulatory standards (e.g. FMVSS, ECE, ISO).
9. Support the homologation and certification process for chassis components to ensure they comply with global vehicle safety standards
