Role Overview:
The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for leading the night shifts, ensuring that the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the night. This includes administering medication, completing accurate daily care documentation, and supporting the care team. The role also involves promoting a culture of independence, dignity, and respect for all residents, while ensuring compliance with care plans and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
: Lead shifts to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained for residents.
: Promote independence, choice, and dignity for residents in all aspects of their care.
: Administer medication accurately and complete all required documentation without error.
: Offer guidance and support to team members, helping to maintain a positive and supportive environment.
: Ensure all policies and procedures are followed, including safeguarding, health and safety, and care plans.
Essential Requirements:
To be considered for the role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
: A relevant professional qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
: At least 2 years experience in a residential or nursing home setting.
: Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
: A caring and empathetic approach to resident care, with a commitment to person:centred care.
: Flexibility and the ability to work under pressure, taking responsibility for shifts.
Preferred Experience:
: Experience in a nursing or residential home, with specific experience in dementia care.
: NVQ Level 4 or higher in Adult Health and Social Care.
: Experience in managing a team and conducting one:to:one person:centred reviews with staff.
