Insight Investment are looking for a Portfolio Strategist within Business Development to join the Distribution team.
Role Responsibilities
1. Focus on UK intermediary prospects introduced via BNY EMEA, with a special focus on advisors across the country.
2. Effectively communicate Insight’s history and value proposition as an asset management firm.
3. Effectively communicate the firm’s fixed income product offerings and investment philosophy, processes and resources to strategically position the firm against industry competitors to drive new business.
4. Position strategies and represent the firm and its products with internal and external sales teams and end clients and prospects.
5. Maintain highly consultative and solutions-based discussions with existing and prospective investors.
6. Contribute to development of materials such as investment content in new business proposals, sales due diligence, presentation materials etc.
7. Public speaking at relevant conferences in the UK.
8. Work closely with BNY EMEA sales on the creation of new business opportunities and building Insight’s profile with IFA prospects. Respond to BNY client requests promptly and accurately and approach all challenges in a client centric manner.
9. Take the lead from an Insight perspective on the progression of those opportunities, pitch preparation and execution.
10. Record prospecting activity: opportunities created and pipeline progression.
11. Assist BNY sales in responding to requests promptly and accurately and approach all challenges in a client centric manner.
Experience Required
1. Ideally 5-7 years’ Asset Management experience in a client facing role such as sales or product specialist.
2. Excellent understanding of fixed income.
3. Strong investment and analytical acumen, with candidates having attained CFA and/or advanced degree preferred.
4. Willingness and ability to travel domestically 75% of the time, frequently visiting multiple cities on a weekly basis.
5. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to succinctly and effectively explain complex ideas to prospects with varying degrees of investment knowledge.
6. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues including portfolio management and distribution professionals.
7. Independent work style and a level of high self-motivation.
