Duty Manager / Supervisor (Vintage Events Venue/Bar)
Le Keux Vintage are a 1950s themed events and experience venue in the heart of Leamington Spa. We're looking for an excitable, dedicated, joy-seeking individual to manage and oversee our venue in support of the owner. You'll love creating incredible experiences, making people feel amazing, giving outstanding customer service and bringing positive energy to all those around you.
Le Keux specialise in private parties such as hens and kids birthdays. We also offer makeovers, photo shoots, afternoon teas and run a cocktail bar several evenings a week. The Duty Manager will open and close the venue and supervise all events, whilst the owner is not present.
Job Overview
Are you experienced in hospitality? Perhaps you've supervised or been a manager/deputy in a cafe, hotel or bar? Do you love the bustle of events? Always worked in events but fancy learning marketing? We got you! Got hidden hobby skills in photography? We'll develop those! This is truly a position for someone ambitious, creative and able to give so much more than they've previously had the chance to do.
Responsibilities
* Supervising daily operations in the events venue to ensure all parties, appointments, table service, food service and bar service are delivered to the highest standards.
* Deliver workshops such as ice cream making and cocktail masterclasses (training provided) for children's / adults parties.
* Opportunity to deliver more services/classes/appointments, depending on experience and ability to learn new skills (we love up-skilling our team in any area they're passionate about, including photography, hair and makeup, dance, cocktails, crafting etc).
* Opportunity to learn and develop in other parts of the business including content creation, marketing, product development (we have our own cosmetics range too!), training franchisees and more.
* Overseeing cocktail events several evenings a week, preparing cocktails, hosting guests and ensuring all food and drinks are delivered to highest standards.
* Leading and motivating a team of freelancers and suppliers (for example dance teachers and makeup artists), mirroring our owners' passion for a positive, exciting work environment where everyone is valued and appreciated.
* Overseeing simple food preparation (afternoon teas and children's food boxes) ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Please note this does not require cooking/baking.
* Host hen parties, children's parties and afternoon tea parties.
* Excited to work with children.
* Manage inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as necessary.
* Handle all guest and customer requests with an ability to problem solve on the spot to ensure the ultimate satisfaction of all customers and visitors.
* Conduct regular training sessions for staff on food safety practices and health and safety across the venue, including fire safety, working practices and more.
* Work with our bookings coordinator and owner to ensure successful delivery of all manner of events.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality, events or restaurant industry.
* Strong knowledge of food and hygiene safety standards.
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A passion for delivering outstanding customer service and enhancing guest experiences.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
* Personal alcohol license and/or experience in cocktail making preferable.
Salary advertised is pro rata, dependant upon experience. Bonus scheme is available too. Hours for this position will be approximately 20-30 depending on events. You'll need to be available evenings from Wednesdays to Saturdays and during the day Friday to Sunday (you'll work a shift pattern). Flexibility is essential, but you'll know your hours in advance.
