Schools Finance Team Manager We are the Education Finance Team, a high-quality finance service working with 200 schools across Warwickshire. We are passionate about helping schools use their resources to deliver the best possible education for our children. We are looking for a team manager who can blend their ability to build relationships with excellent financial skills and a commercial aptitude for managing a successful traded service. If so, read on… What you’ll be doing… You’ll lead a group of experienced professionals in providing the advice and support our schools need for strong and compliant financial management. You’ll help them to meet their reporting and other statutory requirements, and ensure they have the planning tools they need to safeguard their finances for the future. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the Education to take a collaborative approach to securing the highest possible standards in our schools. As a traded service, you’ll also be responsible for making sure the income earned by your service meets agreed annual targets over the medium term. Key Requirements Lead the delivery of traded Education Finance Services to schools & academies in line with agreed service level specification. Provision of high quality, consistent financial advice, information and support to schools and academies in order to deliver strategic and operational financial planning, monitoring and reporting. Responsibility and management of the traded team, including quality assurance of services provided. Ensure principles of consistency and standardisation are embedded within the delivery of finance service Provision of reporting progress and issues against financial plans including Schools Deficit recovery plans Ensuring financial management is carried out in accordance with the financial framework, organisational policies and procedures. Advising on the impact of current and new relevant legislative requirements with financial implications for Schools and Academies and ensuring appropriate finance support is provided. Supporting financial cycle processes ensuring timetables are adhered to, finance and schools requirements are carried out and deadlines achieved. To ensure the effective escalation of financial risk.
