Work as part of an expanding Science and Technology team to drive forward the Research and Development Road map for the Business. Working specifically on system-level data capture, analysis, performance tracking and monitoring for a variety of different High-Energy X-ray sources and detector assemblies used in the Non-Intrusive Cargo and Vehicle Inspection industry. Working alongside physicists, software, and electronics engineers to experimentally evaluate the impact of innovative designs and concepts brought to market in a quick-turn around and fast-paced environment, whilst supporting legacy programs and existing schemes of work.
Report to the Science and Technology Manager, with day-to-day support and guidance Senior team members within the Science group.
Support the data capture, analysis and system performance optimisation for a number of products at the point of Commissioning and customer acceptance testing.
Explore methods and techniques to reduce the dose footprint of X-ray imaging systems, maximising performance at lower X-ray doses and reducing the cost of shielding with targeted solutions.
Understand, monitor and disseminate in a clear and concise manner the relevant standards for X-ray performance and dose exposure in Cargo and Vehicle imaging.
Develop tools and techniques to help anticipate system image performance for future units, analyse X-ray images on current units and establish trends and correlations for various system-level configurations.
Develop and maintain analytical models: excel; Work closely with the software team to develop and deliver image enhancement tools and filters into the inspection suite.
Support programs and projects to deliver fully compliant X-ray imaging systems at customer acceptance tests, both on site and at customer facilities world-wide.
