Our client, a leading manufacturer in North West Manchester, is looking to recruit a Production Planner to join the business on an ongoing temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in Production Planning in a manufacture-to-order environment. Candidates will be required to coordinate the issue and receipt of all manufacturing paperwork to the planned schedule to achieve OTD.
Candidates will ideally have experience working within a Manufacturing Engineering/Assembly-based environment. Experience with Valves, Pumps, Gearboxes, or Oil and Gas Manufacturing would be advantageous.
Experience working with MRP Systems, ideally SAP, would also be highly advantageous. Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, are also ideal.
Hours: Monday - Friday 7 AM - 3 PM
This role is available for an immediate start.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinate the issue and receipt of all manufacturing paperwork to the planned schedule to achieve customer RDSL.
2. Capture root cause for failure to achieve customer RDSL & lead time.
3. Highlight any past due customer orders and escalate through the appropriate channels to completion.
4. Prepare daily MRP reports aligned with weekly/monthly forecasting.
5. Action all MRP exception messages including rescheduling, cancellations, and quantity amendments.
6. Plan capacity against workload, highlighting any issues to the Value Stream Manager.
7. Report daily KPIs against Production Plans including kitting, quality release, and witness inspection.
8. Coordinate sub-contract operations and free issue material to meet production demands.
9. Review the sales order backlog report to coordinate accurate information for the daily/weekly production meetings and open order books.
10. Monitor the SAP system and ensure that it is up to date at all times.
11. Provide Customer Services and lead time responses in a timely manner.
12. Support in the investigation and close out of NCRs within expected lead time.
13. Create, develop, and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal stakeholders.
14. Support the VSM and lead planner as requested.
15. Take an active role in Perfect Execution activities as required.
16. Whilst undertaking duties, ensure that all Company policy and procedures are adhered to (including HSE and Quality).

1. Demonstrable experience in production planning.
2. Ability to communicate with multiple departments to ensure OTD.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Experience working with MRP systems is advantageous - ideally SAP.
5. Strong Excel skills.
6. Strong organisational and planning skills.
7. Ability to prioritise workload and manage work pressure.
