However, building the Factory is only part of the story because in order to bring it to life, we need to find the very best people to work in it.
We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of our new, exciting, state-of-the-art Factory here at Nostell.
This is a newly created role, arisen due to our complexity, anticipated growth plans and overall sales trajectory for Nostell products for the Futures Division. We are looking to develop a clear Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) approach to the end to end manufacturing process, through two Key Business Stakeholders, 1. Sales Planning and 2. The Factory.
This would be a great role for someone who has previously worked as a team member in a mature S&OP environment or Factory planning role, but is now looking to utilise their experience to help develop the right processes, systems, ways of working and key performance indicators (KPIs) in a start-up environment, working with Key Functional Stakeholders, to develop and implement the right foundations to facilitate our ambitious growth plans.
To support our progress, We are currently recruiting for a Site Production & Materials Planner to come and join our team at our Nostell Factory in Wakefield, WF4 1QH.
Your role will be focused on supporting the Sales Planning, Production, Engineering and Process Functions through the scheduling and controlling of all manufacturing processes, materials and outputs. You will continually improve the communication flow between these Key Stakeholders.
The Site Production & Materials Planner is a days' based role which may vary in start and finish times as some flexibility is required to suit Factory needs and demands.
The Site Production & Materials Planner is an integral Cross-Functional role within the Factory Team. The Site Production & Materials Scheduler reports directly to the Factory Manager.
Key Duties & Areas of Responsibility for Role:
Health & Safety
? Promote a positive Health & Safety (H&S) and Environmental culture by following ALL training and adhering to ALL H&S and Environmental policies, procedures and protocols at all times, reporting any and all hazards or issues immediately.
? To monitor your work area and ensure the workplace is safe and a ?clean as you go' policy is maintained at all the times.
Quality
? Promote a positive quality culture by following ALL training.
? Collaborate and work alongside the Process Manager in order to optimise finished product quality.
? Immediately escalate raw material availability issues to the Process Manager.
? Immediately escalate known raw material quality issues with the Process Manager.
Process & Performance
? Collaborate and work alongside the Process and Production Managers to ensure all packaging and raw materials are available when required.
? Collaborate and work alongside Sales Planning to ensure orders are received and scheduled for manufacturing in the Factory.
? Collaborate and work alongside the Production Managers to ensure the Factory manufacturing plan is built using our systems to ensure all finished products are manufactured and delivered to our Customers on time, in full and that all finished goods stock items are maintained at the agreed levels.
? Collaborate and work alongside Stockyard Team to ensure all deliveries are scheduled and communicated.
? Able to demonstrate problem solving and flexibility by proactively reacting to short notice changes to create the optimum Factory manufacturing plan.
? Maximise the Factory manufacturing plan for operational efficiency through minimising change overs.
? Monitor efficiency, productivity and output from Production to apply to the Factory Manufacturing plan.
? Ensure effective handovers and communications across functions, teams and between shifts, sharing best practice to maximise Factory performance.
? Participate in all relevant Tier Meetings highlighting ALL issues and be part of suggesting solutions to key challenges and participating in those solutions.
? Be the key point of contact for site for Sales Planning, packaging and raw materials suppliers.
Costs
? Consistently build the most effective and efficient Factory manufacturing plan.
? Monitor packaging and raw material stock levels and associated costs.
? To participate in Month End Stock Counts as required.
Engineering
? You will work alongside the Engineering Planner to ensure all site plant is routinely maintained, aligned to Engineering schedules.
To ensure the best interests of the Company are always maintained.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
? Previous experience in a planning role working with Planning systems
? Excellent level of people and communication skills utilising all communication methods
? Numerate, literate, highly analytical with good attention to detail
? Computer literate and confident abilities in Microsoft office packages, especially Excel, Word and Outlook
? Self-starter who is self-motivated with the ability to work alone or collaboratively
? Highly organised with good attention to detail
? Excellent problem solving skills
? Willingness to undergo further training and development, having a growth mind-set in terms of your own development and participation in ALL site initiatives
? Team working with a "One Team" attitude
? Excellent timekeeping, attendance and flexibility
? Good level of understanding of English language, both spoken and written
