You will be a senior member of the management team of the Estates and Development service and be responsible for providing a proactive customer focused operational estate function by leading and managing the Estates Maintenance team, Minor Works and Contract Management, Environment, Sustainability, Energy, Waste, Grounds, Compliance and Business Systems and Switchboard.
You will assist the Head of Estates and Development, and other colleagues, in the development, implementation and delivery of the estate master plan ensuring that we continuously improve working methods and business systems to ensure that our estate is fit for purpose, and that all providers/contractors who support our estate are managed effectively.
You will be responsible for analysing and developing solutions to a wide range of estates issues, whilst ensuring that the department operates and functions effectively within all relevant legal, regulatory and advisory frameworks. You will ensure that all risks are identified, addressed and mitigated, or notified appropriately. You will also act as an Authorised Person (AP) in a discipline or disciplines to be agreed based on experience and be expected to participate in the on-call managers rota.
You will manage the estates budget, ensuring value for money, produce an annual work plan for your areas of responsibility, produce and present reports up to board level, and undertake the full range of managerial duties, including for any human resource management issues as required.
