Part-time – 28 hours per week. Potential to increase to full-time in 2025.
£31,300 per annum pro-rata. £23,690 actual salary.
TWAM Enterprises Ltd is Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums’ (TWAM) trading company. It undertakes commercial operations, including retail, hospitality, e-commerce, venue hire and events across 9 venues in our region. It is an exciting time to be joining TWAM Enterprises as we will soon be supporting the commercial operations at 3 additional venues in Northumberland.
More than ever, TWAM’s continued success depends upon its ability to generate income and we are now seeking an experienced and committed Buyer to join the TWAM Enterprises Ltd retail team.
As Buyer, you will be responsible for the planning, development and delivery of merchandise ranges to budget, schedule and customer profile for nine fantastic museums and galleries across Tyneside.
You will have experience of merchandise development and buying and be able to translate creative ideas into commercial products, reflecting TWAM’s varied exhibition programme and retail strategy. You will have a good understanding of e-commerce and the ability to develop and grow our online offer.
You will demonstrate excellent people skills and be experienced at working to budgets and negotiating costs. You will also be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm to support our work in this truly unique and exciting role.
Working location can be split between our main office based in the Discovery Museum in Newcastle upon Tyne and some remote/home working in line with operational needs. (We operate an agile working policy.) You will also have to attend our other venues in the North East periodically, all of which are accessible by public transport.
