To develop/improve/maintain/manage communication/swallowing/feeding skills of adults/ children in a given location, through direct intervention, liaison and joint working with other staff and carers and across agencies, to maximise their potential/ reduce risk and enable their maximum participation and integration into society.Specifically to: Independently assess, diagnose and treat own specialised caseload of patients/clients and maintain associated records. Participate in research in the specialist area. Advise and provide clinical support to other therapists/staff on SLT issues. Supervise the work of assistants/volunteers and others working with the post holder. Contribute to the induction, mentoring and support of other more junior staff and may berequired to facilitate clinical case discussions as part of peer review. Take full SLT student placements, contributing to their assessment and examination. To be accountable for own professional actions.To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which (a) engages, enables and empowers others (b) uses coaching to promote ownership of learning and quality improvement and (c) facilitates team working andcollaboration within teams / departments and across organisational boundaries.
