Your Focus
The People & Operations Manager will play a crucial role in building a strong culture and operational foundation for our organisation with the opportunity to shape and lead people processes from the ground up.
This position requires an individual with exceptional organisational skills, and a strategic mindset to help shape our people function. The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and department heads to ensure that people processes are aligned with our culture, business goals, and values.
Reporting directly to the COO you will have the opportunity to develop your career further and scale with the company.
Key Responsibilities
People Processes Development:
* Enhance, develop, document, and implement our HR processes and policies.
* Ensure compliance with UK Employment Laws and regulations.
* Continuously evaluate, improve, and automate people processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, while supporting our culture.
* Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, lead conflict resolution, and define disciplinary actions.
Documentation and Compliance:
* Create and maintain engaging and accurate documentation, including employee handbooks, contracts, and templates.
* In partnership with our Technology function, monitor and ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
* Conduct regular audits to guarantee HR files and records are accurate and up-to-date.
* Manage BambooHR (our HRIS) and track key people metrics to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
* Look for ways to further integrate and automate our HRIS with our other systems.
Recruitment:
* Collaborate with department heads to identify staffing needs and talent requirements.
* Develop and implement innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent.
* Support departments with sourcing, interviewing, selection and placement.
* Manage Pinpoint (our ATS) and support people managers to maximise outbound candidate sourcing utilising Otta.
* Handle all onboarding elements for joiners, including contract preparation, right to work checks, document management and induction preparations, ensuring all legal requirements are in place.
Learning and Development:
* Design and oversee onboarding programs to ensure a smooth integration of new employees.
* Identify training and development needs and create plans to enhance employee skills.
* Manage the biannual performance review process, including 360 Feedback, employee self-assessments and goal setting.
Culture:
* Foster and document a positive and inclusive work environment through effective communication and engagement initiatives.
* Regularly run Employee Engagement (Satisfaction & Wellbeing surveys) and provide actionable insights from the data gathered.
* With the leadership group, ensure our commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity is put into tangible, effective action.
Remuneration and Payroll:
* Monthly payroll management and processing, with support from the finance department.
* Collaborate with finance and senior leadership to support department heads in conducting salary reviews, ensuring alignment with company budgets.
Operations:
* Ensure compliance with relevant Health & Safety guidelines and laws, acting as the appointed Health and Safety Officer.
* Ensure that office spaces are being effectively and efficiently used, and that our equipment is well-managed.
* Assist our Technology function in ensuring our devices are logged, inventoried, and comply with our security policies.
* Be the primary Social Event Planner for quarterly company socials, and oversee a social committee handling other regular social activities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience: 5 years + of proven experience as a HRBP/People Manager or similar role.
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (HR certification preferred).
* Industry: Previous experience in marketing technology products, a startup or a SaaS company would be a huge benefit.
* Passion: Individuals who are passionate about the virtual world and have a genuine interest in working for a high-growth company in an exciting industry.
* Curiosity: You understand new trends in technology. We want our team to be enthusiastic about the industry we work in and the people we work with.
* Technology: Familiarity with the systems named above (or similar systems) will be highly valued.
