Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 10am-6pm (you will be required to work on matchdays - Lieu days are offered to reflect working matchdays)

Role Summary:
Millwall Football Club is seeking a Facilities Operative to work with a leading London championship football club, assisting the Head of Facilities/Safety Officer with general maintenance duties. We are looking for an experienced and skilled Facilities Operative to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs, inspections, plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, general maintenance, and planned improvement services to our facilities. The individual will be responsible for assisting other trades when required to ensure the highest level of service across our sites.
Reporting to the Head of Facilities & Safety Officer and as part of our maintenance team, you will work across the business portfolio, including The Den, Calmont Road training ground, and Well Hall (Academy), to carry out a wide range of maintenance duties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake day-to-day general maintenance repairs in-house for all our facilities including The Den stadium, training ground, and the Academy.
2. Undertake painting work, such as preparing painting surfaces, removing old paint, and using correct utilities to prepare the surrounding areas.
3. Undertake plumbing work, such as fixing leaks, unblocking drains, gutters, shower fittings, and more.
4. Preparation of the facilities for ALL home matches.
5. Regular checks and repairs on lights, toilet seats, broken chairs.
6. Completing work in accordance with Millwall Football Club specifications and in compliance with relevant legislation and industry best practices.
7. Working to operational procedures, safe working practices, and Health and Safety procedures as required.
8. Matchday support to the Head of Facilities and other maintenance colleagues on matchdays.
9. Liaise with external contractors and club staff across various sites.
10. Building compliance duties.
11. Ensure maintenance records and appropriate tests/inspections as required by the Club.
12. Testing and maintenance compliance of safety systems (including emergency lighting, PA, access control, and CCTV).
13. Be a key holder of the building and secure the building at the end of the day.
14. Respond to any fire alarm, intruder alarm activations outside business hours (when required).
Match Day Events:
1. Liaise with other departments to ensure safe stadium event operations.
2. Test all safety systems prior to events.
3. Liaise with Head of Facilities/Safety Officer to ensure stadium health and safety compliance pre-event.
4. Complete 72 hours and 48 hours pre-event safety checks (PA Systems, lighting, etc.).
5. Liaise with the Head of Facilities/Safety Officer during events to ensure smooth running of the event.
General Club Accountabilities:
1. Ensure compliance with all relevant club policies, including safeguarding, health and safety policies.
2. Ensure compliance with the club’s code of conduct.
3. Build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, always maintaining a professional image when representing the club.
4. Maintain a flexible approach to work.
5. Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion at the club, in line with our EDI Strategy.
Knowledge and Experience:
1. A sound knowledge of basic building, plumbing & maintenance skills.
2. The ability to use a range of manual and power tools in a safe and operational manner.
3. Experience working as part of a team alongside other trades/professionals to complete tasks/projects.
4. City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant field or equivalent experience (not essential).
