Job Overview
The Principal Water Resources Advisor will be part of the Water Resources Policy & Regulation Team; responsible for assuring compliance with the Regulatory Conditions within our portfolio of Abstraction Licences and ensuring the Business is prepared for Drought events. Reporting to and influencing stakeholders and Regulators.
1. Review and evaluate all aspects of WR Licences and Drought Permits & Orders to meet the requirements of the regulators.
2. Responsible for the preparation and submission of abstraction licence and drought permit / order applications.
3. Review and maintain policy and procedure manuals relating to abstraction activities
4. Influence operational capital programmes to deliver improved compliance resilience
5. Support other team members and wider business
About You
6. Preferred experience in water resources / water industry
7. Preferred experience in a regulated company / regulating organisation
8. Preferred skills / demonstrable understanding of surface water / groundwater models
9. Strong stakeholder engagement skills; internal and external
10. Experience of negotiating with and influencing
11. Excellent report writing skills
