SEMH Teacher
Location: Hereford
Start Date: March 2025
Salary: £160-£190 per day (depending on experience)
Contract: Full-time, part-time, or contract options available
The Opportunity
We need a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive school in Hereford. This role focuses on working with students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and supporting their emotional development.
We offer flexible working options - full-time, part-time, or contract - starting from March 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons that support students with SEMH needs.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to address individual learning and emotional challenges.
- Implement effective behaviour management strategies, focusing on positive reinforcement.
- Support students in developing social skills and emotional resilience.
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor and track student progress, feeding back to staff and relevant professionals.
- Follow safeguarding and child protection guidelines at all times.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support student well-being.
Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with students with SEMH needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when managing challenging situations.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
