A leading school in East Sussex is seeking a dedicated and proactive Finance and Operations Manager to join its dynamic team.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the school’s educational aims by overseeing financial operations, contributing to strategic decision-making, and leading the finance team to ensure financial efficiency and accountability.
This role is based on site 4 days a week- The ideal candidate for this role has a Finance background and is also willing to support the Operations team across the school as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the finance function and manage a team, ensuring the efficient processing of accounts, budgets, and financial reports.
Work closely with the Leadership to influence operational and strategic decisions.
Prepare monthly management accounts, monitor budgets, and manage audits.
Oversee payroll management, including pension schemes, and support HR with staff forecasting.
Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Identify financial risks and opportunities to maximize resources and income. Person Specification:
A background in accounting
Previous experience as a Finance Manager
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Knowledge of academy funding, financial regulations, and systems.
