Job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Therapy Team. The post holder will be employed as a Senior Occupational Therapist working collaboratively with other Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Assistants across the Front of house and virtual ward and medical wards.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to have experience in the occupational therapy assessment and management of acute care patients, patient flow and facilitating discharges and have gained experience across a variety of specialities.
The Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Service are well established large, progressive and dynamic services, which continue to develop within the Trust. The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from senior clinicians and the AHP Service Leads.
This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research and the Hospital has close links with both the University of Teesside and Durham University.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* BSc or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
* HCPC registration
Knowledge and Skills Essential
* Basic IT skills
* Demonstrates analytical skills and judgement when dealing with the Occupational Therapy management of complex clients
* To display effective communication skills, communicating complex, sensitive and contentious information to patients, carers and colleagues
* Good understanding of the structure, policies, priorities and format of the NHS
Desirable
* Evidence of taking a lead role in MDT working
Experience Essential
* Experience at band 5 level including work as a rotational Occupational Therapist in a variety of specialties
