Please note: We are currently recruiting for two Social Worker positions. One at Grade H and one at Grade I. The Grade I role includes additional responsibilities as outlined in the Job Description Person Specification.
The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bolton’s Adult Safeguarding Team. As a Social Worker on the Safeguarding Team, you will work across the Borough of Bolton, responding to safeguarding concerns and promoting positive relationships with provider services, agencies, other teams and our respective partner agencies.
Along with holding a caseload, you will provide a consultative and supportive function to the wider Social Work Teams to ensure we deliver consistency across Adult Services. You will have experience and knowledge of the statutory duties under the Care Act 2014, specifically in relation to Safeguarding.
The role includes you being on a duty rota, screening telephone calls, emails, police contacts and providing advice and guidance to members of the public & partner agencies.
You will be expected to complete Section 42 (Care Act 2014) safeguarding enquiries, attend strategy meetings and be an active participant in case conferences, working with individuals at risk to ensure we put them at the focus of what we do and adhere to the Making Safeguarding Personal agenda.
The role also involves you preparing for and participating in multi-agency meetings in accordance with legislation, policies, procedures, and best practice.
Following training and support, you will be able to facilitate, chair and participate in the resolution of complaints, safeguarding investigations and attend decision-making forums. We offer regular opportunities for reflection through supervision and case discussion.
The post offers the opportunity to enhance your current skills and develop your knowledge in social work practice and safeguarding adult. You will be based within the Bolton MASSS (Multi-Agency Screening and Safeguarding Service).

About You
We are looking for someone who has a passion for safeguarding, is enthusiastic and motivated to safeguard the individuals in Bolton, embedding Making Safeguarding Personal. You will have an excellent understanding of safeguarding issues within adult social care and will ideally have had previous safeguarding social work experience and/or work with people with complex needs.
We want someone who continuously strives to develop professionally, has excellent communication skills, is a team player who is able to prioritise, and problem solve while working autonomously, yet knows when to seek advice and guidance from your colleagues and managers.
We welcome applications from Student Social Workers who are in their final placement and are due to qualify in the next 6 months.
