Please note that SYMCA follows a structured salary grading system for all roles, and the offered salary for each post will be at the starting point within the specified grade. Key Responsibilities
We are looking to recruit a proactive Skills Advisor to join the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority in our Employment & Careers team on a fixed-term contract until June 2025. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with local businesses to understand their growth needs, particularly around skills development, and help connect them with relevant training options and skills initiatives available across the region.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
As a Skills Advisor, you’ll have a key role in identifying opportunities for businesses to address and overcome challenges, guiding them toward effective training solutions. You will also engage with new partners, strengthen community ties and establish referral pathways into alternative provision. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential, along with a proven track record in a similar environment and the ability to work independently and take initiative.
