Get Me To The Alps is an online travel agent for ski and snowboard holidays. Founded in 2012 by a team of industry experts with 20 years’ experience in the sector. Based in Macclesfield, this is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing, online, winter sports travel agent. In order to help facilitate our continued development we are looking to recruit a new Travel Executive to join the Get Me To The Alps team. Applicants must demonstrate intelligence, ability to work under pressure, a willingness to go that extra mile. Ski experience is obviously desirable, but not essential as we can provide excellent training and guidance on all aspects of the role. The successful candidate will be working alongside the existing team and will also be critical to developing, delivering and maintaining a new online booking website. The role offers a good basic wage and bonus structure and will reward hard work and initiative. Job Role: Winter Sports Sales Agent & Travel Administrator Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire Start Date: ASAP Contract duration: Full time (6 months’ probation), Part time work would be considered for the right candidate Starting Salary: £18,000 (pro rata) plus bonus of up to £10k+ based on performance/overtime & targets (passenger numbers booked). The right candidate who can convert enquiries into bookings can earn a large bonus. Responsibilities
1. Answering sales enquiries, costing up holidays using Excel and producing PowerPoint quotes / email template quotes.
2. Logging all contacts and enquiries into sales tracking software, replying to all queries from potential customers and converting quotes into bookings.
3. Building relationships with customers and group leaders of group bookings to help maintain retention.
4. Calculating the appropriate margin/profit on a holiday depending on group size, dates of travel and inclusions
5. Processing online orders and ensuring every part of the holiday is booked & confirmed with the relevant suppliers.
6. Maintaining the online booking system and website, updating cost elements and availability, sourcing new suppliers and accommodations.
7. Booking flights ensuring that all information is entered correctly and that no errors are made.
8. Booking hotels and ancillary products on suppliers’ websites or by email or phone.
9. Logging bookings in the database and ensuring that all financial information is entered correctly so that it matches that of an online or phone order.
10. Chasing balances owed by customers, taking payments by card and then logging payments on the booking system and in Excel.
Key requirements It is essential that you have some ski experience; you have been skiing It is essential that you have good computer skills, including:
11. Fast and accurate typing skills; a lot of email contact with customers means that grammar and spelling need to be of a high standard.
12. Being efficient at multi-tasking on a computer; proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
13. Attention to detail and accuracy.
14. Excellent telephone manner
15. Strong numeracy skills
16. Strong written capabilities
17. Willing to work additional hours - weekends and evenings during peak periods.
Beneficial, but not essential skills:
18. Languages, ideally French but Spanish also useful
19. Ski experience / knowledge (this is obviously highly desriable)
20. Experience within the travel sector
21. Sales experience
Working hours When based in the UK office hours are 9:00 am- 05:30 pm. During peak season, should weekend work be required, days in lieu will be offered. *Currently working from home during the pandemic.
