DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our team specializing in Maintenance within our Darlington Engine business. During your apprenticeship program with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential!
Summary of the course:
The Maintenance Technician Apprentice role is a developmental position within the Maintenance department. During the apprenticeship, you will work 5 days per week, totaling 37.5 hours. The first year will focus on Practical Foundation Competency Training at Southwest Durham Training Ltd. Upon completion, you will obtain a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Technical Knowledge) and Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
* Learn how to troubleshoot, assemble, install, test, maintain, and improve mechanical and electrical systems.
* Understand and adhere to safety protocols.
* Ensure equipment uptime to support production throughput and quality.
* Work with the latest technology including robots, cobots, PLCs, vision systems, and automated delivery systems.
* Collaborate with a diverse team to enhance the Darlington Powertrain Campus.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
* 5 GCSEs grade 4/C and above in Maths, English, Science, and two other subjects.
* A willingness to learn new skills and a can-do attitude.
* A commitment to succeed in both work and learning.
* Ability to commute to both the Darlington site and SWTD training.
