Clinical and Professional The post holder will1.1 Work in accordance with NMC Code: Professional standards of behaviour for nurses, midwives and nursing associates prioritising people, practising effectively, preserving safety and promotingprofessionalism and trust. In addition, the post holder will work with local and trust policies and guidance. 1.2 Actively identify and manage potential infection control issues ensuring all necessary precautions are in place for patients and staff. 1.3 Promote and facilitate a patient centred approach to care. 1.4 Promote and facilitate `best practice` in all aspects of care delivered to patients, their relatives and carers. 1.5 Lead and coordinate clinical expertise within Critical Care. Provide clinical support, advice and supervision to junior members of the critical care team and work cohesively in collaboration with all other members of the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to provide and promote seamlessservice delivery and effective and appropriate discharge and / or follow up as appropriate. 1.6 Establish effective working relationships with other hospital departments and external agencies to facilitate safe and appropriate patient care using efficient and effective communication strategies. 1.7 Ensure that nursing documentation related to patient care is in accordance with the NMC Standards for records and record keeping requirements, and the legal and ethical framework e.g. data protection, confidentiality. 1.8 Ensure the safe and effective use of all medical devices used within the Critical Care Unit.
