Role Overview: Our client, a leading name in the renewable energy industry, is hiring a Transport & Installation (T&I) Engineer to support offshore wind turbine foundation projects. This position involves planning and coordinating all T&I engineering efforts related to the foundation installation, including vessel selection, marine logistics, and reviewing contractor methodologies for optimal efficiency and safety. Key Responsibilities: Foundation Design Collaboration: Work closely with the Structures team to incorporate T&I requirements into the design of wind turbine foundations. Installation Strategy & Criteria: Design lift points, define installation criteria, and develop grillage & seafastening (SF) systems while identifying required installation tooling. Vessel Selection & Contractor Review: Lead the selection of suitable vessels for short and long-haul operations, and assess contractors' proposed T&I methodologies for alignment with project standards and efficiency goals. Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with the Geotechnical team to ensure all foundation installation criteria meet geotechnical requirements, and collaborate with the WTG team on installation parameters. Risk & Compliance Management: Actively manage risks, implement mitigation measures, and ensure compliance with safety standards, including CDM and maritime regulations. Primary Tasks: Lead and chair technical meetings with contractors to facilitate seamless progress on T&I engineering scopes. Monitor the T&I contractor’s progress regarding vessel readiness and suitability for installation activities. Provide regular updates on T&I scope development and project milestones. Qualifications & Experience: Experience: 10 years in offshore wind or a similar industry, particularly with wind turbine foundation installations. Previous experience with offshore installation contractors or developers. Technical Expertise: Proficiency in loadout, transportation, and installation processes for WTG foundations. Strong knowledge of offshore lifting practices, LOLER standards, and relevant IT tools. Certifications: GWO certifications (First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, Sea Survival with HUET). Offshore Medical Certification, including Chester Step Test. Skills: Proven ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication with the T&I manager. Skilled in managing contractors, resolving disputes, and handling complex interface requirements. Why Apply?
