Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in the Department of Mathematics at Imperial College London, funded by a Leverhulme Trust grant on \\\"Optimality of cellular resource allocation in a model Eukaryote\\\".
What you would be doing
The successful candidate will work closely at the interface of mathematics and biology with Prof Vahid Shahrezaei, Prof Peter Swain (University of Edinburgh) and their experimental postdoc on mathematical modelling of resource allocation in yeast. Knowledge of biophysics, systems biology, data-driven modelling or related areas will be required.
What we are looking for
* A PhD or equivalent level of professional qualifications and/or experience in biomathematics or in a closely related field
* A broad and strong background in biomathematics, biophysics, systems biology, data-drive modelling or a closely related field
* Clear evidence of outstanding promise and originality in research, with a good publication record, commensurate with career stage
* Ability to carry out original research and to produce published research papers
* Ability to identify, develop, and implement new concepts, techniques, and methods
* Ability to organise own work independently
* Ability to prioritise own work in response to deadlines
* Ability to work with others, especially postdocs and graduate students
* Excellent verbal communication skills including the ability to deal with a wide range of people, and to communicate complex information clearly

Further information
The position is fixed term for 36 months. The expected start date is 1 April of 2025 or as soon as possible after that.
*Candidates who have not yet been officially awarded their PhD will be appointed as Research Assistant within the salary range, £43,003 - £46,297 per annum.
