If so, this could be the opportunity for you About the Role As a Trainee Recovery Worker, you will gain the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to support individuals facing challenges related to substance use. You will be working in a non-dry scheme, meaning you will support individuals who may still be using drugs or alcohol, experiencing withdrawal, or going through drug-induced psychosis. This role requires resilience, emotional strength, and the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations. This is a trainee position, so you must be willing to study and develop your expertise. You will receive structured training and supervision to become a fully qualified Recovery Worker. If you successfully complete the qualification and demonstrate competence, you will be upgraded in salary after one year. What you'll do Support residents in their recovery journey, encouraging engagement with specialist services such as Phoenix Futures and Open Road. Work with individuals who may be actively using substances, helping them reduce dependence and make positive changes. Help residents build life skills, manage finances, and prepare for independent living. Work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents. Handle challenging behaviours, including drug-induced psychosis, using a trauma-informed and non-judgmental approach. Support case management, attend multi-agency meetings, and advocate for residents' needs. Encourage positive community engagement, de-escalate conflicts, and promote a safe and respectful environment. What we're looking for Willingness to study and complete the required training to become a fully qualified Recovery Worker. Resilience to handle exposure to substance use and challenging behaviours. Ability to engage and communicate effectively with individuals struggling with addiction. Strong teamworking skills, but also confident in lone working situations. Passionate about supporting individuals to sustain tenancies and live independently. Able to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
