Job summary A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board for an experienced public health dietitian to lead the Flying Start Dietetic team in Cardiff. The Public Health dietetic team work with families across Flying Start areas in Cardiff to support them to achieve healthy and sustainable lifestyles. The dietetic service focuses on public health, strengthening community food and nutrition input into areas of health inequality and has an enhanced community paediatric element that focuses on cows milk protein allergy. The successful candidate will work for the Flying Start Dietetic team, based at Glan Yr Afon School for 37.5 hours per week. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for developing, managing and co-ordinating community programmes for families addressing health inequalities. This will involve working in partnership with other agencies in a variety of settings including community venues, educational establishments, with social services, third sector and health care providers as well as directly with clients at an individual and group level. The post holder will be working predominantly in areas of high deprivation with a population with diverse and complex health and social needs and will need to have experience of working in public health dietetics delivering Agored Cymru Nutrition Skills for Life courses or equivalent.
