As Quality & Curriculum Manager at Skern Training & Skills (STS), you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality apprenticeship and educational programs that align with regulatory requirements and meet the organisation's strategic goals. Reporting to the Head of Operational Delivery, you will lead on curriculum development, quality assurance, and continuous improvement, IQA and end-to-end learner journey management ensuring excellence in teaching, learning, and assessment.
You will coordinate the quality and curriculum aspects of EQA visits from awarding bodies and Ofsted inspections, preparing and presenting evidence to ensure STS is recognised as a continued "Good" provider with the ambition of achieving "Outstanding" status. In collaboration with the operations, compliance, and sales teams, you will focus on the quality of delivery which will lead into the growth and promotion of STS and Skern Group's offerings.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Lead the design and delivery of high-quality curricula and educational programs that equip learners for future success, ensuring alignment with Ofsted's Education Inspection Framework (EIF).
* Own the overarching quality assurance processes, including managing the quality improvement cycles (QIPs and SARs), and facilitate regular quality meetings to ensure continuous development.
* Provide line management for our Functional Skills and Additional Learning Support (ALS), ensuring that staff receive appropriate training, support, and development to enhance their pedagogical skills.
* Own the Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) process, ensuring the delivery of effective standardisations and that sufficient External Quality Assurance (EQA) is performed and documented.
* Drive outcomes-focused approaches, leveraging data to improve learner progress and outcomes, ensuring programs remain agile, fit-for-purpose, and aligned with industry requirements.
* Ensure the highest standards of professionalism across the organisation, collaborating with all departments to maintain consistency and quality across all offerings.
* Support the delivery of Functional Skills, ALS, and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), ensuring effective implementation.
* Provide guidance and support to STS staff through regular supervision, training, and observation to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
* Collaborate with End-Point Assessment Organisations (EPAOs) to ensure effective coordination and integration of EPA requirements into STS programs with the support of our admin and compliance teams.
* Work closely with operations, compliance, and sales teams to deliver excellence across our courses, benefiting learners, employers, and other key stakeholders.
* Maintain and update knowledge of sector standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with awarding bodies such as City & Guilds and NCFE.
Entry Requirements:
* Expertise in Educational Program Design and Delivery: Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering high-quality apprenticeship and educational programs.
* Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of apprenticeship standards, specific industry standards, and End-Point Assessment (EPA) requirements.
* Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of Ofsted's EIF, DfE requirements, and relevant regulatory and industry bodies.
* Qualified at Level 6 or above.
* Functional Skills & Special Educational Needs: Proven experience in supporting the delivery and testing of Functional Skills in English and Maths, Additional Learning Support (ALS), and Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Leadership & Collaboration: Ability to manage and mentor where needed, with a collaborative approach to working across departments and advising on best practices.
* Professional Qualifications: Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PTLLS or equivalent vocational competence in Management) and Assessor qualifications (A1, IQA, TAQA, CAVA, D32/D33).
* Drive to develop self and others through role modelling best practice, approach and efficiency.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships and interact professionally with employees at all levels.
* Technical Proficiency: Advanced IT skills, particularly with Microsoft applications, and the ability to identify and implement IT solutions to enhance processes.
* Knowledge of Standards and Regulations: Strong familiarity with relevant IFATE standards and a keen understanding of key industry changes.
* Organisational Skills: Exceptional time management, organisational skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
* Driving License: A full, current driving license is required.
* Experience using Bud systems, BKSB, or Articulate.
* Southwest based for connection with Head of Operations although not essential.
