We are a team of highly skilled and trained scientists who work from purpose-built, UKAS accredited laboratories in Sittingbourne, Slough and Manchester.

The Role
The Microbiology Analyst will work together with the Laboratory Team to carry out microbiological testing on water to specific SOP’s and ensure all quality control procedures are followed to ensure the validity of results. The individual should have enthusiasm for science and wish to develop technically within Microbiology. The Microbiology Analyst will play an active part in ensuring the highest quality of service to clients and adherence to standards.
Working hours: Full Time – Monday – Friday with a weekend rotation. Varied Between 8am-4pm or 11am-7pm
Working style: Lab based- Slough
Responsibilities
1. The Microbiology Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all samples received in the laboratory are correctly recorded and processed to client requirements within the appropriate time frame.
2. The Microbiology Analyst should be familiar with the regulatory requirements specific to the laboratory and ensures all users are in compliance with those standards.
3. The Microbiology Analyst will assist in maintaining the laboratory accreditation to ISO 17025.
4. The Microbiology Analyst will assist ensuring that all instrumentations/equipment are functioning properly to enable confidence in results generated.
The Person
1. Comfortable standing and walking for most of the day, due to the nature of the work.
2. GCSE in Science and an interest in science.
3. Excellent IT skills with a high level of accuracy along with an eye for detail.
4. Excellent communication and organisation skills.
5. Able to work within set targets and goals, and manage expectations.
6. Ability to work well in a team, with a reliable, open, honest and approachable character.
