Facilities Electrician – Join a Leading Engineering Team in a Dynamic Environment We are currently recruiting on behalf of our market-leading client, a renowned company in the engineering sector, seeking a Facilities Electrician to join their highly skilled Facilities Engineering team. This role will offer the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, varied environment, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical and facilities systems across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Electrical Duties: Perform assembly, installation, maintenance, testing, and fault diagnosis of a wide range of electrical plant and components. Stay updated with the latest revisions to building and safety regulations, ensuring compliance at all times. Conduct regular in-service inspection and testing (PAT) on electrical appliances in line with compliance regulations. Carry out Fix Testing as per set programmes and regulatory requirements. Provide commercial electrical maintenance, including repairs and installations, with occasional work at height in warehouse areas. Manage external contractors for larger electrical projects as required. Address and resolve electrical defects arising from external inspection reports. Facilities Duties: Provide breakdown maintenance support for facility equipment, ensuring swift repairs where possible. Perform routine preventative maintenance to ensure all facility systems continue to run smoothly. Undertake building maintenance tasks, allocating and monitoring work through the Jira system, ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner. Follow best engineering practices for all maintenance activities, adhering to the Preventative Maintenance (PM) programme. Use a variety of tools, from hand tools to precision measuring instruments, for maintenance tasks. Report on findings from external H&S Compliance audits and ensure all issues are addressed and properly documented. Oversee the engineering asset register and, where appropriate, liaise with contractors for compliant and preventative maintenance. The ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualifications: Essential Skills and Experience: Experienced and qualified in commercial electrical installations. Level 3 City & Guilds (2391, 2394 & 2395) or equivalent. AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) certification. In-depth knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Commercial electrical experience, including fault finding and building electrical repairs. Demonstrable experience of working alongside electricians or as an electrician. Experience with building maintenance and working independently to solve issues. Strong understanding of statutory and non-statutory documents, including BS7671 On-Site Guide and Guidance Notes 1-8. Proficiency in performing Portable Appliance Testing (PAT). Previous experience working as a Facilities Technician in an engineering or commercial environment. Ability to plan and prioritise workloads effectively. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to take corrective actions promptly. Desirable: IPAF 3a & 3b certifications. Knowledge of electrotechnical systems, smart technology, and renewable energy solutions.
