The role This is a one-year fixed term Lecturer position in the School of Biological Sciences. You will be appointed at grade J on pathway 3 (PW3). You will join our PW3 team and will be based in our shared office space. We are seeking someone with excellent technology skills and demonstrable evidence of outstanding and innovative teaching in higher education. One of your key roles will be to transfer online teaching materials over to Blackboard Ultra but you will also be expected to engage in the range of duties below. What will you be doing? Typical duties will involve leading face-to-face undergraduate lectures, practical classes, small group tutorials, supporting field courses, supervising undergraduate practical and literature projects, and marking and moderating assessments. Willingness to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds in both large and small classes, along with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with academic and support staff and to work independently and organise one’s own schedule is essential. You should apply if You can demonstrate outstanding technology skills, ideally with demonstrable experience of effective use of Blackboard and/or Blackboard Ultra. You have the skills to support our staff and students to use features of BB Ultra to ensure a smooth transition to this new platform. You will have a strong background of delivering outstanding and innovative teaching, in a discipline that aligns with our school’s research profile.
