My client is a leading manufacturer of custom-made steel door solutions in the Newcastle-under-Lyme area. They are looking for a Health and Safety Officer who will join them ASAP on a permanent basis.
As the Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer, you will be the driving force behind health, safety, and environmental standards within this award winning business. Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will design and implement a Health and Safety Improvement Plan, ensuring compliance while actively shaping a positive safety culture.

You will be responsible for:
Leading the charge on health, safety, and environmental improvements across the business
Developing and implementing a proactive Health and Safety Improvement Plan aligned with company growth
Engaging employees at all levels to embed a safety-conscious culture
Delivering and continuously improving safety training programs to increase awareness and accountability
Acting as the key advisor on all HS&E matters, driving policy changes and cultural transformation
Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including evacuation plans, fire drills, first aid, and disaster preparedness
Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and industry standards
Conducting and overseeing risk assessments, site inspections, and accident investigations
Maintaining accurate HS&E reports and present findings to the senior management team
Managing and maintaining compliance documentation and HS&E databases (e.g., Target 100 portal)
Conducting regular internal audits and inspections of systems and practices to identify areas for improvement
Incident prevention - continuously evaluate and implement measures to prevent incidents, accidents, or environmental damage
Designing, developing, and delivering in-house HS&E training programs for all levels of staff
Creating engaging safety communication materials, driving awareness and best practices
You :
IOSH Managing Safely certification (minimum)
NEBOSH General Certificate (or willingness to obtain
Experience leading health and safety initiatives in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
Proven ability to design and deliver HS&E training programs
Track record of engaging teams and fostering a positive safety culture
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and proactively, reporting directly to the Operations DirectorThe package:
