The Job
To develop, grow and maximise profitable sales of Feed, Fertiliser and associated products to customers and prospects within an agreed Sales Policy & territory, whilst also promoting the retail offering and working closely with stores, to achieve the agreed budget and target levels in terms of both volume and margin for manufactured and traded feeds and all other retail products.
This position requires a balance between strategic sales planning and hands-on business development, to promote the growth of the business, in particular feed sales.
To collaborate with the product development and technical teams to provide feedback on market demands and customer requirements.
Develop and implement regional sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
Identify new business opportunities and expand the company's market presence within the region.
Monitor competitor activity and adjust sales tactics accordingly.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and stake holders (farmers, distribution & feed retailers).
Monitor performance, provide feedback, and develop professional growth plans.
Stay up-to-date with market trends, customer needs, and industry developments in livestock, poultry, or other feed-consuming industries.
Educate the team and clients on the benefits of new and existing feed products.
Track and analyse sales performance against key metrics and make data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.
Achievement of regional sales targets and growth objectives.
Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
Maintain compliance with feed safety, animal health, and environmental regulations and all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice, are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, & NOPS assurance schemes.
Any other task associated with the efficient technical support of a Workshop.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALITIES REQUIRED
Essential:
Experience of driving growth in sales.
Ability to analyse data, identify trends and make informed decisions.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience of managing a sales ledger through the use of a CRM system.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Agricultural experience.
Desirable
FAR Qualification.
Amtra SQP qualification.
Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Business Management, or related field. MBA or related business qualification is an advantage.
Competent IT skills and experience of the Microsoft office suite.
