SENIOR MATHEMATICAL/STATISTICAL SOFTWARE ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
The right engineer will drive the success of AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) software products through leadership & collaboration. You will have exposure to all the latest AMD technologies as part of the team which will deliver our next generation products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Development of mathematical and statistical software with an emphasis on usability, accuracy and performance.
* Implement parallel algorithms solving real world classical machine learning problems, taking ownership from design to delivery.
* Build and deploy software for the most advanced HPC (High Performance Compute) and AI platforms in the world.
* Define, develop and execute regression test models and track the results.
* Innovate in production software environments, continuously striving to optimize the workflow.
* Collaborate across the organisation.
* Pull together stakeholders and follow up on action items.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
* An understanding of mathematical concepts and algorithms applicable to classical machine learning, data science or statistics.
* Programming experience using C/C++.
* Experience of programming with OpenMP or another parallel language or paradigm is desirable.
* Prior experience of scripting such as Python, Shell, or R.
* Knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
* Experience with software development processes and tools such as build systems, debuggers and source code control systems.
* Excellent verbal communication and written, presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
* Masters degree or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science or equivalent.
