Long Term Futures is seeking a skilled and passionate individual to join a welcoming primary school in Aston. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to provide vital classroom support, deliver targeted academic interventions, and assist with PPA cover, ensuring continuity of learning across the school. For the right candidate, there is potential for this long-term placement to transition into a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide focused support in phonics and early literacy, helping pupils build foundational reading and writing skills.
- Assist in delivering numeracy interventions, supporting children with key mathematical concepts such as counting, addition, and subtraction.
- Facilitate both one-to-one and small group interventions, tailored to pupils' academic progress and overall wellbeing.
- Deliver engaging, pre-prepared lessons during PPA cover, ensuring seamless learning experiences for pupils.
- Offer tailored support to children with SEN, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or a relevant degree.
- Have at least one year of experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 settings.
- Previous experience in covering PPA or classroom teaching is highly desirable.
- Demonstrate strong skills in delivering group and one-to-one phonics and numeracy interventions effectively.
- Show a proactive, positive, and empathetic approach to supporting children, including those with additional needs.
- Be confident in managing classroom activities during PPA cover, maintaining high standards of behaviour and engagement.
