We are seeking a part-time community staff nurse in the Sturminster Newton/Shaftsbury team. You will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills when caring for patients in the community setting. Training will be provided for any clinical skills required for this role.
Effective communication is required within a community nursing team. We have a good work ethic which includes treating each other with respect and having an open and honest culture.
This is a part-time role of 30 hours per week. The post holder may be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
Key Responsibilities:
1. To assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients to meet their specific needs.
2. To assess the needs of patients in a variety of settings and formulate a plan of care. This may involve liaison with carers, other health professionals, GPs, consultants, hospital nurses, social workers, hospice staff, specialist nurses, and voluntary and statutory workers.
3. To provide evidence-based nursing care to a defined patient caseload with the support of the District Nurse.
Preceptorship:
We welcome applications from newly qualified nurses, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists, and we provide a very comprehensive and fully supported Preceptorship Programme for newly qualified healthcare professionals.
Applications from candidates that require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.
