Job Title: Electrical Shift Engineer Location: Wynyard, Middlesbrough Salary: £37,000 Shift Allowance Rota: 4 days on, 4 days off – 12-hour shifts (days and nights) What You’ll Be Doing You'll be joining a solid team at a data centre, making sure everything electrical and mechanical keeps running smoothly. From routine checks and planned maintenance to fault-finding and emergency repairs, you’ll be hands-on with a mix of systems and kit, including: Electrical and mechanical plant maintenance BMS (Building Management Systems) and alarm response Fault-finding and reactive repairs Small installations and handyman tasks Supervision of contractors on-site Keeping up with safety standards and documentation Supporting the site team with compliance and client reporting Taking part in out-of-hours call-outs and shift cover when needed What You’ll Need Skills & Experience Solid background in electrical and mechanical maintenance – you're confident with planned and reactive jobs Good with diagnostics – whether it’s a faulty motor, lighting issue, or tripped breaker Experience in commercial/critical environments (data centres, plant rooms, etc.) Comfortable working with building systems like UPS, BMS, generators, etc. Up to date on Health & Safety practices Qualifications City & Guilds 236 Part 1 & 2, or equivalent 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Desirable: IOSH, Safe Working at Height, HV Authorised Person The Right Mindset Great at communicating – clear, professional, and friendly Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure Confident working alone or as part of a team Physically fit and fine with working at heights or on roofs when needed Perks and Benefits 25 days holiday 8 bank holidays Private medical & dental insurance Income protection Cycle-to-work scheme Discounts at restaurants and shops Childcare vouchers Full support with training and upskilling INDNORTH
