Here at UPP we have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Technician (Electrical) to work as part of our team at Nottingham University in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service specialising in electrical and mechanical repairs. This is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Sunday on a shift pattern basis. The salary for this role is up to £37,000 per annum dependant on experience and qualifications. Key responsibilities include: Undertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager. Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all fabric work. Carry out PPM in accordance with the schedule & liaise with specialist sub-contractors. Maintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance. Carry out statutory testing including PAT testing, fire alarm testing, and others, as required. Report any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons. Take the lead in electrical stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair. Assist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing. Participate in an on-call rota. We are looking for you to be a fully qualified electrician with one of the following qualifications City & Guilds 236 / 2360 / 2365 / 2000 / 2330 / 2397 or equivalent EAL electrical qualification to Year 2 / Level 3 City & Guilds 2382 - 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and have worked in a similar role and environment. You will also possess great communication, IT, and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job. A current manual UK Driving Licence is essential for this role. In addition, you will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
