MDE are recruiting for an Electrical Field Engineer to support a leading engineering firm driving the energy transition in the UK. Purpose To carry out various electrical installation works on projects. Location A site-based role, with the requirement to travel to clients' sites on a regular basis to suit the demands of the current work portfolio. Key Responsibilities Electrical installation of LV equipment including MCC's, local control panels, distribution boards & instrumentation. Carry out electrical surveys of sites, establishing methods of installation and creating reports to detail findings. Contribute to and/or create risk assessments and method statements for packages of work. Guide and mentor apprentice or junior engineers, taking responsibility for their safety and standards of work when on site. Manage multiple jobs at one time, being able to prioritise tasks accordingly. Undertake the role of Competent Person in-line with Electrical Safety Rules. Working alongside software engineers, ensure I/O is present and serviceable as required. Report on progress to EICA Construction Manager to highlight any concerns, / issues and opportunities of further work. The job holder must possess excellent organisational skills and the ability to often work under considerable time pressures. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years electrical experience. Valid UK drivers' licence. Good planning, organisational and time management skills. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent IT skills, including MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to act on own initiative and work as part of a team. Needs to have good communication skills at all levels. Must be positive, approachable, willing, and helpful. Must have a good understanding of electrical installations and control systems including, but not limited to, control panels/MCCs, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation. The job holder shall have a willingness to undertake an annual performance 1 to 1 review, to attend and have an active participation in all internal and external training courses. Qualifications NVQ level 3 in electrical installation or equivalent. BS7671 18th edition- Requirements for electrical installations Good basic education particularly in English language and grammar. ECS card Knowledge of CDM regulations 2015. SSSTS (advantageous). Knowledge of BS EN Power Switchgear and Control gear Assemblies (advantageous). Knowledge of BS EN 60947 Low-voltage Switchgear and Control gear (advantageous).
