Job summary Its an exciting time to join our growing PCN Pharmacy team. This great opportunity will allow you to work as part of a 15 person clinical pharmacy team to deliver care to our 70,000 patients across five practices. As part of the ARRS team you will enrole on the CPPE pathway for pharmacy techs,commissioned by HEE ,to deliver training as part of the Direct Enhanced Services (DES). This pathway will equit pharmacy technicians with the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to work in various patient-facing roles in primary care networks as part of a multidisciplinary team. Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians will be able to access a range of different study methods to suit different learning styles, a continuous assessment process and support from supervisors and peers. The pathway is 15-months for pharmacy technicians, and is fully funded by Health Education England. Clinical Pharmacy in General Practice model is supported by the direction of national policy including the Five Year Forward View and GP Forward View where there is a need to better utilise the role of pharmacy within primary care to pro-actively help patients stay well and out of hospital as well as helping to reduce the demands on general practice. Pharmacy technicians play an important role, complementing clinical pharmacists, community pharmacists and other members of the PCN multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job The purpose of the role is to support improvements to maximise safe, cost effective best practice in prescribing to improve the quality of patient care. The post holder will help patients to get the best from their medicines by switching medications to agreed and approved protocols, improving repeat prescribing processes in General Practice, including promotion of repeat dispensing and online ordering, minimising clinical risk and aiming to reduce wasted medicines.
