My client is an MEP Consultancy, based in Hertfordshire who have been operating for over 10 years. With 30 staff currently on board, they are now recruiting for MEP Estimators in the Hertfordshire area. Working on behalf of some of the leading MEP Contractors, they specialise in Large High-End M&E Projects across London, Cambridge, Hertfordshire & Peterborough.

Project values have been up to £250,000,000. From day one, you are provided excellent training on software (including Bluebeam and Excel).
THE ROLE – MEP ESTIMATOR
The role involves working with some of the major Building Services Contractors and end users in the country delivering construction projects in the residential, commercial, healthcare sectors and life sciences industry. Your time will be split between being office-based in Hertfordshire (80%) and visiting sites within Hertfordshire, Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
The successful applicants will have the appropriate commercial responsibility and be involved with:
1. Assist the MEP Quantity Surveyor
2. Carry out measurements
3. Provide estimates and cost planning to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
4. Ability to estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed level.
5. Participate effectively with post contract cost variances and the change control processes; where applicable refer major changes to the line manager.
6. Manage cost checks and carry out valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate cost checking, and valuation process.
7. Produce monthly post contract cost reports and present to client.
8. Provide input into value engineering; negotiate and approve final accounts.
9. Maintain liaison with client and other consultants at all project stages.
10. Provide leadership to cost management team when necessary, ensuring the delivery on all accountabilities.
11. Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager, utilizing the marketing database.
12. Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to the appropriate line manager.
