They will become familiar with all techniques and procedures providing a high quality, professional radiography service at all times. Assess referrals against IR(ME)R criteria in order to justify the medical exposure of radiation to patients. Practice a meticulous approach to patient documentation and the identification of radiographs. Be aware of patient confidentiality issues and ensure and promote good practice. To actively participate in department QA, Audit and Red Dot and radiographer commenting. Plan and prioritise own clinical work-load. Adapt and ensure safe practice in different areas such as theatres, wards and resuscitation room. Ensure all equipment is used with care and intelligence and all faults are reported to Senior Staff. Follow department procedures for routine cleaning and preparation of rooms. To participate in the clinical training of student radiographers. To provide guidance to assistant practitioners and radiology support workers.
