Commercial Manager - Eurofighter Typhoon Radars - Edinburgh

Leonardo plays a key role in the Eurofighter Typhoon programme, and is responsible for delivering over 60% of the on-board avionics of the aircraft, leading the consortia that develop both the Radar and Defensive Aid Sub-System from our Edinburgh and Luton sites.
We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Team based in Edinburgh to support our Eurofighter Typhoon business area. There will also be certain aspects of support to the Global Combat Air Programme.

Job Responsibilities:
* Lead the Edinburgh based Commercial Team supporting part of the Eurofighter Typhoon Radar business area;
* Provide commercial leadership to projects and contracts, including change control management, monitoring performance of contractual obligations, and management of commercial risk;
* Develop commercial bids/proposals, providing strategic and commercially sound guidance on some of the most visible and challenging contracts and opportunities within the business;
* Draft, negotiate, and administer complex terms and conditions of contract, and be responsible for flow down orders to European Partners;
* Draft clear and concise key correspondence;
* Produce, document, and brief clear and informed commercial strategies to leverage the best possible outcomes for Leonardo;
* Build and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with colleagues, customers and Partners to deliver value to the company;
* Ensure adherence to commercial and business processes and procedures, ensuring that associated internal approvals are in place in line with delegated authorities;
* Manage own workload and that of the Team, highlighting areas of conflict or priority and effectively managing stakeholder and customer expectations.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required:
* Ability to lead a team and work with the needs of individual team members to ensure they are adequately skilled and equipped for their role;
* Specialist knowledge of contract law, combined with excellent drafting and negotiation skills;
* Demonstrated collaboration, communication, planning, problem solving, influencing, decision making and continuous improvement skills;
* Solid relevant experience;
* Eligible for full UK security clearance;
* It would be useful, but not essential, to have experience of:
o Aerospace and Defence contracting;
o SAP, or an equivalent enterprise resource planning system;
o Import and Export Control, including UK Export and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (commonly known as ITAR).
