Speech and Language Therapist
Location: Oldbury, Birmingham
Hours: 7.5 hours per week
Salary Details: £21.54 per hour
We are looking to recruit a Speech and Language Therapist to support our patients at Oldbury, Birmingham. Coveberry Oldbury, part of The CareTech Group, is a registered locked rehabilitation Hospital with 13 en-suite bedrooms and 2 independent transitional flats providing supportive rehabilitation for men with Learning difficulties, ASC and/or mental health diagnosis. Many of our patient’s may require to be detained under the MHA for forensic risks, deprivation of liberty safeguarding to help keep them safe from harm and require a structured and safe community setting.
Coveberry, Oldbury is situated in a residential area in Oldbury, there is free staff parking and there are easily accessible transport links to Birmingham City Centre, Wolverhampton and Dudley.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* To provide speech and language input within patient review meetings.
* To formulate communication passports and guidelines.
* To consult with and provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy guidance to staff, and where appropriate, families and other professionals.
* To assess communication needs of individuals within the service.
* To assess eating and drinking of our patients where required and provide guidance to the staff team.
* To consult with and advise colleagues from other professions on Speech and Language Therapy assessment and treatment methods
* To participate in regular line management and clinical supervision
* To work within the Code of Ethics and the relevant professional practice guidelines of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the professional guidance frameworks of the Health Care Professions Council.
* To work within the framework of the policies and procedures of CareTech
* To be responsible for relevant data collection on work activities, as required, and to maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping
