The Client:
Our client is a leading UK MEP contractor with a history that spans over 70 years. The Project:
The project you will be working on for the first 12+ months of your role is a high-end refurbishment of a listed building in Mayfair. This building will be used as a super prime furniture store, showcasing designer furniture projects, and will also include a fine dining restaurant and champagne/caviar lounge.
The scheme will cover the full scope of refurbishments from new shell and core services to CAT B fit out. Valued at circa £10m MEP, it will feature a high-end finish with state-of-the-art systems being installed.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Review the estimate/tender for the Electrical project elements, in conjunction with the project team, to fully determine and understand the conditions, requirements, deliverables, risks, and liabilities of the works, as defined and awarded by the client.
2. Manage the development of Electrical design in accordance with the Client/Project brief, contract, legislation, planning, building regulations, CDM, technical requirements, budget, and programme, ensuring the client's interests are protected.
3. Establish a productive working relationship with the client on all Electrical installation responsibilities, concerning design and co-ordination activities, and develop contract/project opportunities.
4. Ensure the efficient production of Electrical project engineering through to installation, in accordance with project conditions and requirements, taking account of the CDM and other project quality and programme requirements.
5. Ensure the efficient operation of project procurement, mechanical plant, material, kit; control, and costing policies and procedures. Aid and assist in producing accurate and current project procurement schedules and cost reports for senior project management.
6. Assess and organize the Electrical resources required to execute the project in a safe, efficient, and profitable manner.
7. Communicate to project team members all information, including project contractual conditions, specifications, drawings, and working instructions for the execution of the project.
8. Ensure the safe and efficient execution of Electrical project installations and procedures, both on and off-site.
9. Supervise and motivate project team members, including training and development, throughout the project.
The ideal candidate will:
1. Be qualified with HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering / Building Services Engineering.
2. Have experience managing commercial projects, with a minimum Electrical value of circa £5M.
3. Have experience working on large technically challenging projects, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
