An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Clinical Support worker to join the Paediatric Critical Care Team.
The Senior Clinical Support Worker will work together with members of the Nursing team to:
• contribute to the smooth running of daily activity within the unit
• contribute to the implementation of a high standard and individualised patient care under the direction of a registered nurse by undertaking delegated activities
• communicate effectively with other members of the health care team, patients and relatives.

Paediatric Critical Care (PCC) at OUHincludes 17 co-located Level 2 and 3 critical care beds, delivering a wide range of specialist services to patients aged 0-16yrs from Oxfordshire and the wider Thames Valley and Wessex Paediatric Critical Care Operational Delivery Network (TVW PCC ODN). We are a leading Neurosurgical and Major Trauma Centre and have a vast number of medical and surgical specialities. The unit is undergoing an exciting period of estate and workforce development and investment, with a move into newly built unit within the next 5 years.
SORT Retrieval Service OUH PCC Services include the SORT (Southampton Oxford Retrieval Team) service, delivered in collaboration with Southampton across TVW PCC ODN. It is staffed by doctors, ACPs and nurses from both Oxford and Southampton, with Oxford providing a retrieval team 24/7.
Critical Care Outreach Service is a team of experienced nurses who support all healthcare professionals in the assessment and management of unwell children across the children’s hospital, emergency department, and neonatal unit, following up and supporting children and families following discharge.
Education, Development and Training is provided through a structured competency-based development programme, and there are opportunities for future career development and training pathways for roles such as Nurse Associate and Registered Nurse.
