Aim of the Role:
To provide exceptional wine sales and service to guests at Chewton Glen, ensuring a memorable experience and driving revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of wine service equipment and storage areas.
* Deliver professional, style-driven service to guests, maintaining a high level of knowledge about wine lists, menus, and beverages.
* Confidently describe and upsell wine offerings to enhance the guest experience.
* Collaborate with Restaurant staff and departments to provide seamless service.
* Adhere to Company Policy and Vision Statement at all times.
* Develop and maintain a deep understanding of wine products and services offered by Chewton Glen.
* Anticipate and meet guest needs, demonstrating passion and pride for the hotel.
* Maintain a clean and organized Restaurant environment, understanding the importance of teamwork and flexibility.
* Complete tasks efficiently and to the standard set by the Company.
* Ensure the safe transportation of wines to the Restaurant and maintain a clean and clear wine station during service.
* Report guest comments, complaints, and problems to the Assistant Sommelier, exhibiting integrity and discretion.
* Work closely with the Assistant Sommelier to ensure accurate preparations and mise en place, adhering to Company standards.
* Use guests' names at all times, demonstrating a personal touch.
* Provide discreet and efficient service, upholding the hotel's commitment to excellence.
* Attend all trainings, briefings, and meetings, demonstrating a passion for professional development.
* Understand and execute the Company's policies and procedures regarding privacy, confidentiality, and data protection.
* Familiarize yourself with the hotel's fire safety procedures and Health & Safety regulations.
