We are excited to announce that Milton Keynes University Hospital have recently had a business case approved to expand our Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) cardiology and respiratory services.
The Cardiology Department is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Cardiac Physiologist to join our Team. The role will rotate across our sites at Milton Keynes University Hospital and Lloyds Court Community Diagnostic Centre.
Our department is going through significant investment with recent approval to expand our service to a CDC site, gaining additional Echo machines at the latest market models and software that will enhance your skills.
A collegiate atmosphere in our Cardiology department means that we welcome and encourage the ideas and opinions of each member of staff towards service provision, by participation and contribution to weekly Echo MDT and monthly teaching sessions as well as service meetings.

Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a fully autonomous echocardiographer with the desire to contribute with new ideas to further expand our service with high quality and effective care.
Understanding the importance of Cardiac Physiologists in a multi-disciplinary team and valuing the clinical input that we offer as healthcare professionals, at MKUH we run a Physiologist-led Valve Clinic service.
Milton Keynes community is considered one of the fastest growing in the country, and you can be part of a project which aims to prepare a service for future increasing demands.
We work with our ambitious team of Consultant Cardiologists to further develop the innovative physiologist led services with support on a clinical and technical skills level, such as the recent launched non-medical led ILR implant service co-delivered by our physiologists.
In collaboration with Oxford University Hospital Adult Congenital Heart Disease Consultant Specialist, we provide a monthly GUCH clinic to our patients at MKUH.

Main duties and responsibilities
The postholder will provide specialist professional expertise while acting as a resource within the technical cardiology service at Milton Keynes University Hospital and Community Diagnostic Centre.
To perform a range of standard and complex investigations as requested by clinicians and analyse patient results, providing a comprehensive written report when necessary.
To monitor and respond to changes in patients clinical status.
To deliver appropriate and individualised patient care at all times.
To perform at independent practitioner level in the field of Echocardiography to a high standard, completing accurate and comprehensive reports in a timely manner.
To run Physiologist-led Valve Clinics (training can be provided).
To participate in weekly Echo MDT.
To contribute to the Echo teaching sessions.
To support with IP and OP TTE referral triage, following internal guidance based on the BSE recommendations.
Analyse ambulatory monitors providing factual reports about the findings, which impact on the clinical management of the patient.
To provide cross cover to other areas of the technical service, as the needs of the service dictate.
Develop and implement protocols for working with individuals, families, communities and other professionals.
To promote a multi-disciplinary approach to Cardiac Care recognising, utilising and valuing the expertise of other disciplines.
To support the departmental manager in introducing measures to actively manage and reduce risk to patients to ensure the formal reporting and recording of any adverse incidents, in line with Trust policy.
To actively develop and contribute to relevant programmes of audit, raising the profile and enhancing the contribution of Physiologists as a whole to this process.
Any other technical duties commensurate with the grade and scope of the post.

* BSc in Clinical Physiology or Equivalent
* EACVI or/and BSE Accreditation
* Immediate life support
* Ability to provide technical reports

* Member of the Society for Cardiological Science Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP)
